Failing, making a mistake, learning the hard way, all suck.
It makes you mad, sad, and want to quit.
You want to go back in time and know then what you know now.
You want to erase the minds of everyone around who experienced it.
You dwell on it.
While it may suck... it is so very important because it is not the initial failure that is the test.
See, everyone avoids making mistakes or failing because it really does suck.
But it happens no matter how hard you try, and this is where you are tested.
It doesn't really matter that you failed, messed up, or were bad at something.
What matters is what you did with it.
Failure is a feeling that takes a long time to fade away on its own and sometimes it never does if you don't act on it.
The thing is, that constant pain you feel after... it isn't going to go away until you do something about it.
It is all about how you respond to dropping the ball.
Did you just accept it and stop trying?
Well, I bet you're still dwelling on that failure and that is where you truly failed.
Yes, maybe you messed up, but it is a catch 22. The universe knew you would be bad the first time, the test wasn't you trying something.
That was the lesson.
The test was your response and if you did nothing, quit, or blamed something else... then you failed.
Making mistakes is not fun. Failing at the thing you want to be good at is not fun.
That you must accept, but becoming a better person, learning valuable lessons, and not quitting... that is what leads you to the life you imagine.
You just have to eat some failure first to show you deserve it.
