Why is that we don't do what we say we are going to do or know we should be doing?
This is a constant question on my mind.
We know exactly what we should be doing yet we don't.
Why?
I believe it is because we don't have a good enough reason.
We spend absolutely no time connecting ourselves to a solid reason to why we want something.
Maybe that means we don't really want it or maybe, we are just embarrassed to admit what that reason is.
I think it is the later.
You see at the end of the day, once you let go of what other people think, then having a stupid reason to do something doesn't matter.
The real sad part is usually that reason isn't what it should be.
You should get healthy for your family, right?
You love them, you want to be good for them, and healthy.
Yet, you still aren't healthy.
So clearly, that is not enough of a reason and while that sucks to admit.
It is okay.
That’s not enough.
Although, accepting that, that is not okay.
You know in your head that you still want that item. Just because people expect your reason to be something different than what it is, doesn't mean you get to opt out of the task.
You must find what is enough for you to start and not give a shit what others think about it.
I want to own a successful business and make a lot of money.
Is that my only reason for wanting a business?
Nope.
Is it one of my main ones?
Yep.
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
If it helps people, does well, and serves a good purpose.
Who can argue?
Find a reason good enough to make you get better.
No matter how selfish it might be, if you are better, you are inspiring others to be and that is what matters.
