Do you ever notice how we have certain things in life that we just count on and don't think twice about?
You just go about your day without a single idea of how lucky you are to have this one thing?
I often think about this with my mom. I feel as though she is just there no matter what, even when I'm an absolute ass for no good reason. Even when I bring home a little puppy, without asking, and 100% expect her to help me learn how to deal with it (and let it live in her house). Even when I come upstairs eat her food and then leave to go do something else with my day.
I know she is going to be there.
How amazing that is, to just be someone’s support without a second thought.
Then on days like today everyone stops, and realizes how important their mom is, and how much they have been loved in all these little ways.
It really is incredible, how different, and special a mother’s love can be.
I think this is one of the most cherished traits as a woman in life. We have this extreme gift for caring and loving and showing our children how to grow up. It is so under-appreciated and overlooked in society today. Women try so hard to "be strong" and "not need a man".
Fuck that.
There is immense strength in having endless love for something and expecting not a damn thing in return. There is immense strength in having patience and understanding for children. It's about damn time we start being proud of it.
So, if you are a mom, keep just being there for your children. Know you're a true bad ass for being loving, caring, and stern (when need be) all at once.
On the opposite side, if you have a mother and you realize, like me, how much you really do take her love for granted, make sure you go out of your way to show her that everything she does is greatly appreciated.
