Sometimes Mothers Just Know

I remember when I was in elementary school, we did a project where we grew a plant.

We watered it every day for a few weeks until a little sprout grew. (I am pretty sure everyone did this) buuuut for me apparently, getting this plant to be a sprout was a big deal.

Then, when the plant became too big for the little window pots, we had our plants in, we got to take them home to re- pot and keep growing.

Well, fun fact about Tonia, I tend to kill plants.

So, as I am getting into the car that day after school, I remember dropping my plant and watching the last month of my life fall apart in the parking lot.

I immediately started crying and freaking out about the fact that I just killed my plant.

My mother then ran over (I'm pretty sure trying not to laugh) and scooped up the plant and dirt and put it all back together.

She assured me the plant was fine and it would still grow, and everything was going to be okay.

I distinctly remember asking her "well how do you know"?!

She looked at me and said, "sometimes mothers just know".

I remember this a lot.

Number one because looking back on it today, she was a super woman for not busting out into laughter and number two because often I find this to be very true.

Sometimes, mothers just know.

Happy Birthday momma.
